Cooling the Fire: The Minimalist Skincare Ritual for Pitta & Oily Skin

In our house, skincare isn't "one size fits all." While I need heavy, grounding butters to survive Vata dryness and menopause, my husband and daughter are a different story.
They are Pitta-dominant. In Ayurveda, Pitta is the element of Fire and Water. Their skin is naturally warmer, more prone to redness, and carries its own natural oils. If they used my heavy Shea butter cream, their skin would feel suffocated.
For them, I created a Minimalist Serum-Gel. It’s incredibly light, deeply cooling, and focuses on "soothing" rather than "heavy layering." It’s the perfect balance for anyone with oily skin or a fiery constitution.
Why This Works for Pitta:
Aloe Vera Gel: The hero for Pitta. It is Sheeta (cooling) and anti-inflammatory. It hydrates without adding weight.
Vitamin E: Helps repair the skin from sun exposure (something Pittas are very sensitive to) without being greasy.
Frankincense: It’s an astringent, which helps balance excess oil production while keeping the skin firm and clear.
🌿 The Pitta "Cooling Gel" Recipe
Light, breathable, and refreshing.
The Ingredients:
100ml Aloe Vera Gel (Pure and cooling)
10ml Vitamin E Oil (For healing and protection)
10 drops Frankincense Essential Oil (To balance and tone)
The Procedure:
Combine: In a clean glass bowl, add your Aloe Vera gel.
Infuse: Add the Vitamin E oil and the Frankincense drops.
Whisk: Since there are no heavy butters, you can simply whisk this by hand or use a hand mixer for 1 minute to create a "silky" serum consistency.
Store: Keep this in a glass jar. Because it’s water-based (Aloe), it feels amazing if you keep it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect!
How to Use It:
For Oily Skin: This acts as a stand-alone moisturizer. It sinks in immediately, leaving the skin matte but hydrated.
For My Family: My husband uses this after shaving to calm his skin, and my daughter uses it as her daily face serum to keep her complexion clear and "chill."
Ayurveda is about observing the "qualities" of the person in front of you. I stopped buying commercial products because they don't account for the fact that my daughter’s skin is a "Fire" and mine is a "Wind." By making these two separate versions, I ensure everyone’s skin is happy, balanced, and healthy!
Peace to all
