Beyond the Glow: Why I Stopped Using All Skincare—And This Is the Only Cream I Use

I’ve officially stopped using all commercial creams. No more expensive face moisturizers, no more body lotions filled with synthetic fragrances, and no more "specialty" products for the kids.

For me, especially as a Vata-dominant woman going through menopause, skin care became too complicated and too drying. Most store-bought products just didn’t stand a chance against the hormonal dryness I was facing. I needed something that was more than just a "lotion"—I needed a safety net.

Now, this one homemade blend is the only thing that touches my skin. It’s my face cream, my body butter, and the only thing I trust for my kids’ sensitive skin. It’s pure, it’s grounding, and it’s the secret to how I keep my skin "juicy" even when Vata and menopause are trying to dry me out.

One Jar for the Whole Family

While I use this heavy version to nourish my mature, dry skin, it’s also the staple for my entire family.

  • For me: It’s my protective shield against menopausal dryness.

  • For my kids: It’s the only thing gentle enough for their sensitive skin.

  • For my Husband & Daughter (The Pittas): Because they are Pitta-dominant with oilier skin, I simply adjust the ratios for them. I make a separate batch where I half the butters and double the Aloe Vera to keep it light and cooling.

If you are ready to simplify your life and actually feed your skin "food" instead of chemicals, this is the recipe you need.

The "One & Only" Family Cream

This is the rich, whipped version I use for myself. It’s my face and body "safety net" in one jar.

The Ingredients:

  • 100ml Shea Butter (Deeply grounding and protective)

  • 100ml Aloe Vera Gel (Hydrating and cooling)

  • 30ml Jojoba Oil (Matches the skin's natural sebum)

  • 20ml Vitamin E oil (For healing and repair)

  • 10 drops Frankincense oil (The "King of Oils" for rejuvenation)

The Procedure:

  1. Double Boil: Melt the Shea butter using a double boil method until it’s a clear liquid.

  2. Combine: Mix in the Aloe Vera, Jojoba, and Vitamin E oil. Stir until smooth.

  3. Flash Freeze: Place the bowl in the freezer for 20 minutes. You want it to be firm but still have a little "give."

  4. Whip It: Use a hand mixer to whip it into a fluffy, white cream. This is where the magic happens!

  5. Fragrance: Add your Frankincense (or skip if you prefer no scent) and give it one final mix.

  6. Enjoy: Apply it everywhere! Face, body, hands, and feet.

Notes for Customization:

  • For Very Dry/Mature Skin: Follow the equal amounts above.

  • For Oily/Pitta Skin: If you want it less oily (like I do for my husband and daughter), half the butter/oils and double the Aloe Vera gel.

  • Sensitive Skin: Feel free to skip the essential oil if you or the kids are sensitive to smells.

Peace to all
